What is WinSnare

This program is a pirated copy of the program Snare from the InterSect Alliance International Pty Ltd. The original program was created in order to collect all possible reports on the operation of the system and facilitate their systematization. With Snare, you can collect system logs, databases, event logs, error logs and much more, much easier and faster than via standard services. Alas, WinSnare wasn’t created to help users, but rather harm them. As many know, statistics of any kind is a fairly valuable commodity on the Internet. Any advertising company, software developing company, a group of scammers or even a government organization will find use of detailed information about users' computers. The most popular are such types of information as the system configuration, the list of installed programs, the availability and version of the anti-virus software, the list of visited sites and queries in the search engine. Thanks to Snare functionality and several innovations added by hackers, WinSnare can collect all the above information on the user's computer and transfer it to the scam server. Some versions of WinSnare are able to even establish a remote connection to the user's computer, giving scammers the ability to independently manage it.

With such functionality, WinSnare becomes almost the ideal tool for advertising fraud. WinSnare itself does not show ads, but it gives scammers an opportunity to learn more about the user, and use this knowledge against him. Remote connection is a very convenient way to make the user's computer a part of the botnet, and use it for adware fraud in the future. Now it's quite obvious that WinSnare is not a useful program and should be removed from the computer as soon as possible.

How WinSnare penetrates the system

Penetration into the system is carried out using the simplest and most effective method: the bundled installation. This method not only allows scammers to infect the system with malicious and unwanted programs, but also provides them with immunity from punishment, since the user willingly downloads malware and allows its installation. For those who do not know what is being discussed, we will explain in more detail. Even if you do not know what is bundled installation, you must have encountered such a scheme before, during the installation of free programs. This method works simply: scammers create a file and give it out as an installation file for some free useful program. In fact, in addition to the specified program, the file contains several more viruses. When installing, the user has the choice between two options for installation: "recommended" and "partial". The names of the methods of installation may vary, but the basic canvas is always the same: one of them is the most convenient, safe and complete, and the second is extremely complex and generally undesirable. Inexperienced users often choose the recommended method, thereby agreeing to install all the programs that were in the file. The second method provides the ability to abandon unnecessary programs and install only useful ones.

There are several reliable ways to avoid infection through an affiliate installation, so we decided to give you a choice:

  • Refusal to use pirated programs and downloading free programs exclusively from official sites will give you a guarantee that viruses will not penetrate the PC using the bundled installation method.
  • Attention when installing any free software and pirated copies of licensed software will also help you avoid infection.
  • Installing a decent anti-virus program will be able to protect you from viruses, because if a suspicious file gets into the system, you will receive a notification about the threat coming from it.

Using any of these three methods, or all at once, you can reliably protect your PC from infection. Now that we've sorted it all out, it's left only to remove WinSnare from the computer.

WinSnare removal tool

Removal of any virus can be performed via two basic methods: manually or using an antivirus program. Both methods are equally reliable and fast, when it comes to removing of a single virus, but if the computer is infected with several viruses or more, everything becomes much more complicated. Such computers work slower than usual, often lag and shut down, making manual removal extremely unproductive. This is an actual state of most WinSnare victim computers. As you can see, in this situation it will be much more convenient and safer to use the automatic removal method, and an antiviral program. We recommend that you try an antivirus that will quickly and effectively cope with any infection. This antivirus is called Spyhunter, and you can learn more about it by clicking on the link under this paragraph. Spyhunter is now present on the antiviral market for more than twelve years, and tens of thousands customers all over the world can assure you that does its job very well. If you don’t want to purchase anything – you can download a trial version with limited performance that will scan the system and display the results.
