This article helps you to clear your computer from and any other adware that was brought into the system by it. Here we will explain you the necessary things about, such as its methods of infection, and ways to remove it from both your operating system and your browser. adware

What is Removal reasons and methods advertising program is what they call trash. It’s a kind of a tool whose only purpose is to show ads, no matter what it takes. We’d like to point out that by we mean the whole complex of it, including a simple script that gets into the system, and the scammers’ website that gets it all done. Let’s figure out what is what here, and how it works.

As we’ve already mentioned, is actually divided on two parts, and here we’re going to define their purposes:

  • Most of the users think that adware is a program on your computer, showing you ads and making it slow and unstable, but the fact is that the part on your PC is just a top of the iceberg. There indeed is a tool on your PC, but it only has to do with a limited amount of purposes. It gets into the system, it changes the browser settings, and it sets the registry strings and scheduled system tasks to protect those settings from restoring. It replaces your default search engine and your default homepage with scammers’ website so that you would use it instead of a reliable search. Moreover, that is where its job ends. All the aforementioned things are done in the first few minutes after the infection, and after that, the program is just sitting there in the system doing nothing.
  • The scammers’ website is the most important part of any adware, its core that shows you ads on the websites and in search results. It’s not a big deal also, but at least it’s more sophisticated than the software part. So, first thing you should know is that this website is not a search engine. Not even partly. It’s just a crippled version of a Google Custom Search Engine tool, that was originally designed to help people find something if they know on which sites they want to look for it. Unfortunately, as many other Google’s free services, it was used by scammers to narrow the search field of their victims. This websites places the irrelevant search results on the top positions, making you think that they’re reliable.

We hope that now you realize how adware works, and you’re ready to move on, to even more critical information: the ways that uses to infect the computer.

How gets into the system

As any other unwanted program, has many ways to infect the system, but most of them are used rarely. In the end, there are some methods, which are the most efficient and the safest for scammers to use.

  • The best way to infect user’s system is the bundled installation. It is so because bundled installation is also the safest and the most effective way. It doesn’t involve any super-sophisticated coding, doesn’t need much efforts, and it fully relies on users’ gullibility. The method consists of creating a software bundle that includes a few unwanted programs and one useful free tool. After that, the package gets sealed into one installation file and put onto some file-sharing portal so that you and me could download and install it. The installation process is made in a way that you will think that you’re installing a useful tool, but in fact, you have to read through all the windows to find the checkmarks on the agreement to install everything in the bundle. It means that scammers give their victims a choice and they’ve decided to install adware willingly. The best way to avoid that is to look closely on every window that appears during the installation.
  • The second most effective way is email spam. Scammers just send letters on random mailboxes and hope for the best, and sometimes they got what they want. Their emails are all the same: notifications about winning some prize, or a fake business mail, or something else that will look like a misplaced message. Those messages usually contain files that look like Excel sheets or Word documents, but they aren’t, and you’ll know that for sure if you click on them. A click on such a file will start an installation of an unwanted program. To avoid that you shouldn’t open the messages that come from unknown sender.
  • Sometimes adware gets into the system because someone willingly installs it right from the scammers’ website. It’s a rare case, and mostly it’s about those advertising programs that are related to some other programs or websites that are actually popular. For example, like a very popular free antivirus that suddenly begins to show you notifications about some stuff every five minutes. To avoid this one – well, you can’t avoid it if you use free programs, but this type of advertising tools is the most harmless, and won’t endanger your system.

How to remove

Now, when you know how works and how it sneaked into the system, let’s figure out how to get rid of it. You can do it through two primary ways: manual and automatic. Manual mode requires some skills and efforts, as through the process you’ll need to manually clean the system registry, modify the browser shortcut properties, reset the browser settings and do many other things. It surely won’t be a problem for an experienced user, but if you’re not the one – you’d better ask someone for help, and even in that case – back up the system or your important files before starting, as any mistake might cause significant damage to your OS.

Automatic way is much safer, as it requires fewer efforts and less experience from you. It needs not a single thing from you, except the ability to download a decent antiviral tool and install it. And we know a tool that will help you cope with problem. It’s known as Spyhunter AntiMalware, and it can be trusted.
