How to remove Scgeneric1.xgq virus

Scgeneric1.xgq is a Trojan that most likely penetrated the system using bundled installation or from some malicious site. Such programs most often do not appear on the computer alone, and perform the support function. For example, a computer becomes infected with adware and the Trojan helps adware to gain a foothold in the system, changes the browser settings and adds new values to the registry. Recently, Trojans are most often used to protect adware from deleting or changing settings, and Scgeneric1.xgq is no exception.

A few weeks ago, many users complained about the error occurring in the audiodg.exe process, since the process often produced critical errors and overloaded the system. Now there is reason to believe that the Scgeneric1.xgq virus is built into this process and operates there, inconspicuous for an outside observer. If you recently noticed that the computer behaves differently than it should, namely - it reboots itself, turns off, runs too slowly, often produces critical errors - this means that the system has a virus. In addition, it is worth paying attention to advertising. If the amount of advertising has increased significantly recently, and this advertising does not lead to well-known sites, but to questionable pages with unwanted content - this is a clear sign of adware work in the system. All these signs in general mean that the computer is infected with advertising programs that are accompanied by the Scgeneric1.xgq virus, which protects them from deletion and provides them with the conditions for work. If you do not want to see so much advertising - the only way to get rid of it is to remove Scgeneric1.xgq from the system.

Now that you know what Scgeneric1.xgq is, the question is: how dangerous is it for the user? Advertising is, of course, unpleasant, but most users have long been accustomed to advertising and almost do not pay attention to it. Everyone knows that 80% of links and banner ads on the Internet lead to untrusted sites, which means they simply do not have to click on them. Alas, we’ll disappoint you: Scgeneric1.xgq is used not only to support advertising programs. Trojans have a wide range of possibilities, from installing third-party software to your computer without your knowledge, and ending with the execution of various actions on your computer. Now we list the most common actions that Trojans perform on users' computers:

  • Spyware activities. The Trojan can perform the keylogger function, receiving information about all the passwords entered on the computer, as well as about search requests, visited sites, correspondence and much more. Such data can be used both for advertising purposes, and for direct blackmail and extortion.
  • Involvement in criminal schemes. Trojan, depending on its complexity, can completely take control of your computer. This does not mean that you will not be able to use the computer, but scammers can perform various actions with your PC, and at the same time remain unpunished, since all traces will not lead to them but to you. So, spam can be sent from your PC, there may be crypto currency mining or the spread of malware. In the same category, you can put the creation of botnets - networks of computers belonging to ordinary users who do not suspect anything about the infection. Such botnets are used for large-scale DDoS attacks and advertising fraud.

As you can see, Scgeneric1.xgq cannot be ignored, and you better care about removing this program from the system as soon as possible. Below we will provide you with detailed instructions for removal.
